What kinds of studies do you offer?
We recruit only qualitative research, in which researchers interact directly with the participants. We are not a survey company, although we often use surveys in our screening process. Our projects range from in-person and telephone interviews and focus groups to online, video, and mobile studies, in which you and the researchers connect and communicate with others nationwide and even globally. Still other studies include contextual site visits, ethnographies, and shop-alongs, with researchers meeting with you in your natural habitat.
How will I be compensated?
Research stipends vary according to the project, but generally range from $25 to $500 or even more, depending on how much time and expertise is called for. Payments also vary and are made by check, Visa cash cards, Amazon e-gift certificates, PayPal, and/or charitable donations after the study has been completed. We will tell you up front what form of compensation is being offered.
How will I be notified about your studies?
Research invitations to studies will arrive by email from the Hagen/Sinclair recruiting specialist responsible for that study. Each invitation will include a short description of the study, its timing, and the compensation being offered. It will also include some questions or a survey link that will help us see if you pre-qualify. If interested, please reply to the email or click the link and take the survey. The research recruiter will call you if meet the initial criteria, ask you a few more questions by telephone, and include you in the project if you are a good fit.
How often will I receive invitations?
Depending on where you live, you will receive between several invitations per month to a few each year. Most in-person research is conducted in metropolitan areas, while online and phone-based can be done anywhere. We are not a survey company, so you may not hear from us often, but when you do, you will find the research to be interesting and worthwhile.
What if I need to cancel my participation?
Ideally, call the recruiting specialist that signed you up for the project. You will find his or her phone number in the original email invitation and confirmation. If you no longer have those materials, go to the ‘Contact Us’ page and call or email either of the main office numbers and someone will be able to help you.
What are your confidentiality standards?
All registration information remains completely confidential. Hagen/Sinclair does not share your information with anyone without your permission. Hagen/Sinclair does not sell or publish any portion of their private database.
How do I stop getting invitations?
You can remove yourself from the Hagen/Sinclair database at any time by clicking unsubscribe on any email invitation or by sending a remove request to update@hagensinclair.com.
How do I update my profile information?
We appreciate having your most current address, occupation, and other profile information. Please use the update profile information link at the bottom of any email invitation or send an email to update@hagensinclair.com.
